The Silly Zebra

Out on a drive the other day, I had one of those moments that remind you why no two days in the bush are ever the same.

We came across this zebra standing right next to the road, completely unfazed by our presence. Instead of moving off, it stopped, looked straight at us, ears forward, as if it was deciding whether we were worth its time.

Then it pulled that expression, mouth wide open, head tilted just right and for a second it honestly looked like it was laughing at us. Whether it was calling, yawning, or just being dramatic, it had everyone on the vehicle smiling.

Zebras are incredibly social animals and use sounds, posture, and facial expressions to communicate. Every now and then, we’re lucky enough to witness a little bit of that personality up close.

It was a simple sighting, but one that turned into a memorable moment, proof that even the quiet encounters can be the most entertaining.
